Additional Skills
Technical Skills
Being in design it is definitely important to have a solid foundation of programming skills so youre able to prototype mechanic concepts to be able to demonstrate the concept youre trying to design. I have experience with C# and Unreal's Blueprint system
Outside of game programming I have extensive experience using linux both in a desktop/end user setting and for server operations. I have experience with the Ubiquiti Unifi networking system, and have general experience managing networks of moderate complexity.
Devops
During the development of Soul Detective our professor had us structure the group in a way that would be seen at a professional studio. Included in this we worked in an sprint structure like what is seen in Agile development. We did weekly standup meetings and organized the project using Clickup. We also worked with github for our version control solution for the game. In personal projects I have used notion and trello for project management
Leadership & soft skills
I have experience in leading groups of multiple sizes on different scales of projects. In my game production class i stepped up and served as a team leader who was the representative for the project when talking with our professor. This had me answer hard questions about issues with progress, make and present showcases of the games progress, and keeping the team all on the same page.
In my capstone class i was my team's creative director which had me leading team meetings, making sure that everyone was on the same page for the direction of the game, and signing off on all creative decisions making sure that they were in line with our established vision for the game (or had justification to deviate).
in my job i have served as a trainer to multiple new hires, this involves me getting them up to speed on how to use company systems and also on making sure they are confident in their abilities as the job can be fast paced at times
